2019 is upon us and most of us have made "New Year's Resolutions", but most of us don't even keep track of these resolutions. Heck, we don't even do our resolutions. The saying "New Year's Resolution" is very cliche and some people get tired of hearing about it. Here's a little secret, when companies want to change a perspective about a certain product, they usually would change the wording and keep the same product, just to entice people in. It usually works! We, the customers, are blinded at the product. And that is where I am going with "New Years Goal." Sounds the same, right? It really is. just when you replace the word "resolution" with the word "goal", people are able to achieve it because it is needed. Such as, meeting a goal in your workplace or meeting a goal to meet to go somewhere in the world. Having a goal, is proven to be something that works best in everyday life. Thus why this blog is about "Goals over Resolution."

We often tend to think about what we want to change about ourselves in the coming new year, and I've been there too! That is a resolution! Resolution, changing something about yourself. While we look at goals, as something needed to be achieved. In soccer, you need a"goal(s)" to win the game. Having a goal, is a way to become successful. If you want to change something about yourself, I suggest goals over resolutions. Goals tend to have a domino effect that become goal after goal after goal. You set one goal for yourself, you achieve it and then you get a satisfying feeling and you set another goal and it comes goal after goal. With this domino effect, you see the change that is happening around you and about yourself. As a leader in the church, I set goals for the youth and myself. Goals for the youth are things such as, raising money to attend camp or bettering ourselves in becoming more serious about our faith. Goals for myself, bettering myself in being a leader by reading book and reading the Bible. These goals are only the beginning of the domino effect that will lead to something bigger. Whether, I am in position of being the youth leader or not, I know that these goals will help better the future of the church and the youth.

At SS Camp 2018, I set a goal for myself of finding out if I should continue to be the youth leader at my church or to leave my position. I set out to achieve this goal, and I did! This goal, was the beginning of many more goals I have set for myself. (More on my future goals later) Goals, to me, have proven to be the best way to change something about myself and have proven to be a working order to define a better me. At the end of the day, goals are something you want to achieve.

With 2019, upon us I have set a few goals that I want to achieve this year. Now, if goals do not work for you, you can stick to resolutions or whatever you want. At the end of the day, this blog is not intended to change your mind on "New Year's Resolutions," this is my opinion and my blog, so you if you want to express your own opinion, you can write too! Anyway, this is my goals for 2019:

- Better myself in being a leader and becoming more intimate with my relationship with Christ.

- Become more parental, brotherly and encouraging

- Continue to build into my youth, my church and my "little brothers and sisters."

- Continue to promote the "Next Generation"

- Continue to pray for her and that our relationship will begin soon.

These are my goals for 2019, I might achieve them all, but it will begin a domino effect that will lead me to something greater.
